Colon hydrotherapy gently massages and flushes the colon with water. Colon hydrotherapy is also a form of internal colon and abdominal massage which helps to release tension and stress from the tummy region with direct correlation to the organs and connective tissues, or fascia. Colon hydrotherapy directly supports the hydration of built up material in the colon, often referred to as mucoid plaque, or hardened mucous, as well as the hydration of the entire body as the colon is what recycles water back into the body prior to elimination. Colon hydrotherapy, also referred to as colonics, a colonic, high colonic, colon irrigation, colonic irrigation, or high colonic irrigation is a therapy that has been around for over 2000 years (some would argue over 3000 years). Colonics, as a tool, has been used in helping people detoxify and cleanse their livers, gall bladders, intestines, lymph systems, and for full body cleansing and detoxification as a yearly or seasonal practice. Many people support their health and general well being by integrating colonics with special cleansing diets and detoxification and parasite elimination programs using primarily raw food diets, fasting, juice fasts, special detox or elimination herbs, green food powders, herbal fiber blends, or supplements that simply help to open your major pathway elimination. Common ailments or issues that people address with colon hydrotherapy is gas, flatulence, bloating, bloated feelings, constipation, colitis, crohn's or crohns disease, ibs or irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux disease, cancer, diverticulitis (diverticular, diverticula, diverticulas, diverticular, or diverticulosis as it can be referred to and often misspelled ? thus we include the misspellings here for people), parasites, parasitic infestations, yeast, yeast infections, candida, candidiasis, Backaches or a backache, headaches or a head ache, bad breath, coated tongues, arthritis, indigestion, sinus or lung conditions, skin problems, acne, psoriasis, cystic acne, hair loss, poor concentration, depression, anxiety, stress, fatigue, weight loss or overweight, weight gain or underweight, sluggish bowel or bowels, bacteria imbalance in intestines, post surgery or abdominal trauma or simply to reconnect to their gut instinct through becoming more aware of, and more sensitive to, what their body is communication to them. Colon hydrotherapy is considered an integrative therapy that goes very well with massage, chiropractic work, cranial sacral, soma, heller work, mayan abdominal massage, chi nei tsang, colonoscopies or colonoscopy, pilates, palates, yoga, meditation, retreats, chi gong, tai chi, martial arts, karate, aikido, tai kuan do, metal detox or detoxification through dental work removing mercury filling or chelation therapy, chelating therapy, reflexology, lymph drainage, structural and functional bodywork like feldenkrais, and iridology. Colonics or a colonic is considered both traditional, due to its longevity in the medical profession as well as alternative health care. Its origin begins with the of plants as a conduit to introduce water into the colon, then to enemas and now colonic irrigation, or colon hydrotherapy. It is considered essential for those wishing to detox or cleanse the body as the colon must be kept functioning and open for elimination as one of the major pathways for toxin or toxic eliminations. The same is true for parasite, parasitic or parasites being eliminated from the large intestines or small intestines. The Tummy Temple also focuses on nutrition, nutritional counseling, diet, dieting, weight loss, eating disorders, fertility, pregnancy, pre natal and post natal care, pre surgery and post surgery medication detoxing and detoxification, abdominal surgery post trauma release and scar massage, fibroid massage in the abdomen.
